With Dada Vaswani in Santa Clara

[Below is a transcript of an open-mic Q&A that Dada Vaswani held in Santa Clara, California. It was in front of a thousand person audience, featuring mayors from nine local cities, and moderated by Nipun Mehta.] Q: "Today's theme is self empowerment. Is that a continuous journey or a destination?" Dada: It can be both. If you get the grace of the guru of God, it can be a destination. If you are doing it on your own, it can be a journey. Q: "It's very ... read full story

Mihir and his train journey from Surat to Ahmedabad :)

In the opening circle of our ongoing Moved by Love retreat, we posed the following question to the participants "Could you please share a story of a time when you experienced "being the change?". Though I was deeply touched by many of the stories, Mihir's story in particular, brought a huge smile on my face as it is a situation I face often during my own journeys. Here is Mihir's story, in his own words: I'm geared up for attending my first MBL retreat in Ahmedabad, and am wa... read full story

  A Letter After Being Moved

Just felt like sharing this touching email from a participant at the October retreat. And a deep bow to each of you for invisibly holding this space of love. Generally, it has been so that when I go for a retreat or a similar gathering, I am some person with certain beliefs and perspective; and when I come out, I’m some other person with certain learned/unlearned beliefs and perspective. MBL was different in this way. I felt like I went and came out of this retreat and nothing seems to ... read full story

  Small is beautiful

"You can do no great things, only small things with great love" Last week Sughad felt like a huge marriage venue as the bride’s side represented by the volunteers eagerly awaited the arrival of the groom’s party comprised of the Moved by Love retreat participants arriving from different parts of the world. The volunteers who had come in a few days earlier had created a festive atmosphere with rangolis, diyas, live music, ultra local food and thoughtful gifts ... read full story

  Peace Pilgrimage to Shirdi

Sometime during the end of September, a small group of friends started on a walking pilgrimage from Pune to Shirdi, with an intention to seek blessings from the beloved Sufi mystic Sai Baba. We decided to walk every morning from 5 am till 10 am, as well as keep the time until sunrise for walking meditation in silence. We also felt called to take a leap of faith and surrender in the Divine Providence of the Universe by leaving our food and stay logistics completely in the hands of the Univers... read full story

  Mujawarah in Udaipur

Last week, after an action packed day in Surat, a car load of us drove to Udaipur. Being process driven, lot of unexpected value emerged on the way.  At one point, our conversation went from laughing to super deep talk about Boddhisattvas.  It wasn't so much the content but the collective presence, that emerges and flows where it needs to. On the first day, we visited Reva who lives on an organic farm where they host 'Swaraj University'.  They have batches of 15 ... read full story

  One Day Retreat in Pune

40 of us from gathered in a beautiful nunnery in Pune just like we did at the Empty, Gather, Ripple retreat earlier this year. It's been a few days since the retreat we can all still feel the vibes of the beautiful day we spent together yesterday at the Sisters' Home.  So much happened, yet there was such stillness in our collective energy.. The silent walk up the hill, heart warming stories around Mujawara (or being better 'neighbours' in our communities), a love filled l... read full story

Giftivism Ripples from a Young Service Rockstar

Earlier in the year, after Nipun's talk at Christ College in Bangalore, one of the Deans treated our whole gang to lunch. While we spent an hour dining, two beautiful souls were waiting outside for us the entire time. They had been following ServiceSpace for a while, and just wanted to meet and express their gratitude. Nivendra and Chandni were their names. Since then, Chandni has stayed connected and has truly emerged as a service rockstar, always ready to make someone's day. A few o... read full story

'Stories from the Heart' with Uday-bhai

Love warriors Nimo and Udaybhai were in Pune recently to spread their magic. After addressing a 300 people gathering at the Teach for India gathering, they came over to The Urban Ashram to spend a day with us and I shared my intention of experimenting with 'Stories from the Heart'. Magically, a group of 6 friends organically came together to manifest my intention in the evening. We all sat together in silence first for 30 mins, followed by a check in from all 6 of us about a recent mo... read full story
